Dave & Jenna | Engaged

My husband's cousin (so, my cousin-in law?) and her fiancé, Dave, met up with me in downtown Utica for their engagement session. Possibly THE best thing a photographer can hear from the groom-to-be during an engagement session is 'this wasn't as bad as I thought it would be', or that they felt really comfortable. So when Dave said this to me towards the end of our session, I was SO glad. I've said it many times before, it is definitely not natural to have someone pose you and then stick their camera in your face. It's understandable to be nervous or uneasy before a session like this, and I love being able to make couples feel comfortable in front of my lens! I am really looking forward to shooting Dave and Jenna's Brewery wedding in the fall.

McKenzi & Raigen

Sometimes, my artist soul needs to photograph someone and not have to worry about getting the 'safe' shot or making the client happy. ( Yeah, I know using the term 'artist' sounds super pretentious..)  I'm glad these beautiful girls agreed to put on some flower crowns and oblige me!

Eric & Skyler | Married

I love being able to photograph such a range of different couples and weddings..

Skyler and Eric were married in a joy filled backyard wedding ceremony, on a gorgeous May afternoon. The day was filled with so many tender moments between Eric and Skyler (seriously.. they are the cutest), and lots of love and excitement from their family and friends. It's hard not to be happy for this couple.. their smiles are infectious, and the love they have for each other is so sweet.

Rick & Kim | Married

I love when a wedding allows me to shoot at new locations and venues. Rick and Kim were married at the absolutely BEAUTIFUL and historic  Fort Herkimer Church (with a war reenactment going on next door - so cool!). After the ceremony we headed to The Utica Zoo for their reception.  The reception was adorned with funky, diy details (1,000 paper cranes, lace and colorfully dipped wood candle holders), as well as rustic, earthy touches that really showcased who Kim and Rick are as a couple.  It was such a joy to capture this wedding.. I couldn't think of a better, more joyful couple to kick of my wedding season with!

Kinley

Oh, miss Kinley. I can't believe I've been photographing this little beauty since she was a tiny babe! She was one of my first sessions in my studio, way back when.. Check out how little and scrumptious she was here.. (recognize that flower in her hair?). Each time we meet for our sessions, she is more independent, more spirited, and basically more awesome. I think you'll see what I mean in the images, below:
