bump update | the wait

38 weeks.

The hospital bag is packed (and has been for two weeks). The house has been cleaned from top to bottom twice (and I still keep finding things to clean, I'm in full blown nesting mode). We've managed to narrow our list of names down to four (haha - give or take). Expiration dates on the food in our refrigerator have now surpassed my due date. Hormones have me feeling pretty irritable and the suspense of when this thing is gonna go down is starting to make the days feel pretty long .

But it seems we're as prepared as we could ever be, so for now, we wait.

I imagine that the next month will be pretty quiet around my blog and facebook page. I will be taking sessions again in March, and though there may be a slight delay, I will be doing my best to keep up on emails and messages throughout February. A notice to my 2015 Senior's parentsAs of March 1st, print prices (through your client gallery) will be changing. Now is the time to order prints in order to get the 2014 pricing.

bump update | the nursery.

While this isn't exactly a 'bump update', I feel like baby balash's nursery falls in this category (and hey, there is one little bump photo below.. that counts, right?). We started work on her nursery a few months ago, tearing down what were the walls to my walk in closet (you can see that here ), and finding that behind the walls were lath and plaster from when the house was built in 1901. (Lath and plaster is basically wooden slats with no insulation, so the walls and ceiling were completely torn down and redone.) When we found out baby balash was a girl, I knew I didn't want her nursery to be overly girly, so we settled on soft gray walls with white and wooden accents. We've kept her nursery pretty simple since we are limited on space, and have stored a lot of her blankets and diapers in her dresser and below the crib. This room is easily my favorite in the house now, and I even catch the dogs in here napping on the chair once in a while, so I think they are partial to it too. You can usually find me sitting in here daydreaming about the moments we will share with this little girl, wondering what kind of person she will be. Luckily, we won't have to wait much longer to find out.

If you're curious about any of the art prints/furniture in her nursery, you can scroll to the bottom for sources.  DSC_0159DSC_0163DSC_0166DSC_0167DSC_0174DSC_0177DSC_0183DSC_0185DSC_0189DSC_0191DSC_0193DSC_0194DSC_0201DSC_0210DSC_0208If you're thinking- 'yikes, white changing pad cover?!' - it's cool, I have plenty of backup covers on hand, this one's basically for astetics.. DSC_0215DSC_0218DSC_0233DSC_0234DSC_0223DSC_0226DSC_0227DSC_0231Teal Stuffed Chair: vintage, my husband's grandmother's.

bump update | reality

With my due date quickly approaching (I will be 36 weeks on Friday), I am reminded of what a strange thing time can be. HOW Is it possible for a period of 9 months to feel so long and so short all at once? I had a weird moment (meltdown) over the holidays, realizing that this was the last Christmas my husband and I will ever spend as 'just us' again.. the thought honestly terrified me (still does). Reality is fully setting in that we are about to be responsible for a whole new life. Yikes, gulp, and cue the anxiety attack.  It's cool, you guys, we've managed to take care of two dogs without any major malfunctions.. and dogs are basically like babies, right? Ha. Kidding. This little lady will be here before we know it, and I have never been more excited or terrified for anything in my life.

We can't wait to meet you, Baby Balash.

(If you're wondering, this is most likely my last 'bump update', as taking these photos was about as exhausting as running a half marathon. Hashtag  pregnantgirlproblems)

bump update | currently feeling feelings

Thirty Weeks.

Major Sciatic Nerve Pain.

Are sweatpants acceptable in public?

(I always thought I would be a super stylish, always cute, pregnant lady. No. I want to live in sweats.)

Nursery. Baby Names. So many things to get done.

Waistline, will you ever return to me? (and on the note:)

Give me all of the food.

Labor: looking forward to that! (Said no one, ever.)

Grunting like an arthritic old lady every time I have to move.

Is it February yet?

Thirty Weeks. Currently feeling feelings.
