Dave & Jenna | Engaged

My husband's cousin (so, my cousin-in law?) and her fiancé, Dave, met up with me in downtown Utica for their engagement session. Possibly THE best thing a photographer can hear from the groom-to-be during an engagement session is 'this wasn't as bad as I thought it would be', or that they felt really comfortable. So when Dave said this to me towards the end of our session, I was SO glad. I've said it many times before, it is definitely not natural to have someone pose you and then stick their camera in your face. It's understandable to be nervous or uneasy before a session like this, and I love being able to make couples feel comfortable in front of my lens! I am really looking forward to shooting Dave and Jenna's Brewery wedding in the fall.

Harrison & Kelly | Engaged

Raise your hand if you love couples in love! ( My hand is raised, you guys!)I can't tell you how amazing it is when I get a couple that can giggle with each other and are pretty good at ignoring the giant camera being shoved in their faces. Lucky for me, most of my couples are like this, and Kelly and Harrison were no exception. I got to tell my corny jokes, and they laughed at them, making for some really sweet and authentic moments. These sweeties are getting married at  The Hayloft at Moonshine Farm in the fall, and I'm so excited to capture their wedding day! Rick & Kim | engaged

When Kim mentioned to me that she and Rick wanted to use their friends cabin for the location of their engagement session, and possibly bring their canoe, I was SO excited. I started to imagine what the session would look like (something I do with all of my sessions beforehand. because I'm a weirdo..), trying to picture the cabin, the land, the water and the images I could create. But I never could have imagined how peaceful and beautiful the setting would actually be. The cabin and forest provided a simple and rustic backdrop for this sweet sweet couple, while the dead trees in the flooded land made for some really cool shots with Kim and Rick's wooden canoe. I can't wait to photograph these two again in a few weeks on their wedding day!
